Determined to save her father, Sim Cheong made a heartbreaking decision. She agreed to give herself to sailors as a sacrifice to the sea in exchange for the rice. Her choice was not made out of fear or duty alone, but out of sincere love. She was willing to give up her own life so that her father might one day open his eyes and see light again.

When the day came, Sim Cheong was taken to the sea and cast into the deep waters of Indangsu. It was a tragic and sorrowful moment, and yet the story does not end there. In the underwater world, Sim Cheong was saved by the Dragon King of the sea, who was moved by her pure heart and selfless devotion. Rather than dying, she was given a second chance at life.

Soon after, Sim Cheong rose from the sea inside a magnificent lotus flower. Her extraordinary beauty and gentle spirit amazed everyone who saw her, and eventually she became queen. Even after gaining honor and wealth, she never forgot her father. Her greatest wish remained the same: to see him again and bring happiness back into his life.

In time, Sim Cheong arranged a grand feast for blind people throughout the land, hoping that her father would come. At last, Sim Hak-gyu arrived. In that emotional moment, father and daughter were reunited after so much suffering and separation. Overcome with joy, Sim Hak-gyu miraculously regained his sight.
